David Wright, a Lifelong Met
Boy, did the Mets get the Wright guy. The kid from Norfolk, VA was a lifelong Met, spending his entire 14-year career with the team, from 2004 through 2018. During that time, the third baseman set team records for RBIs, doubles, walks, extra base hits and several other stats. Persistent injuries plagued him as he neared retirement, but he was able to return to the plate for one last homestand in September 2018. That night, the fans at Citi Field gave him one of the most memorable ovations in Mets history.
