Captain America Emerges for Team USA

David Wright earned the nickname “Captain America” after putting up eye-popping numbers for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Appearing in four games (before a strained rib cage ended his time in the tournament), Wright hit .438 with a grand slam and 10 RBIs. Although Team USA did not win the tournament, Wright cherished his time wearing the nation’s colors. After the tournament, Captain America said, “getting a chance to represent your country, and put that jersey on, and hear the chants of ‘U-S-A, U-S-A’ – that’s one of the highlights of my career.”
