Sliding Into the Record Books: Pete Alonso

Pete Alonso was busy during the June 23, 2019, game against the Chicago Cubs. Alonso reached base three times and hit his 27th home run of the season, setting a new rookie club record in just his 77th career game. The previous record holder, Darryl Strawberry, needed 122 games to hit 26 in 1983. It’s no surprise that Alonso got a little dirty along the way.
