Just the Beginning: Mets Opening Day 1969
Date: April 8, 1969
Opening Day 1969 was a historic game for the Mets and MLB. The Mets faced the Montreal Expos at home, the first game played between international teams. New York Post reporter Maury Allen was on hand to record the match in a scorebook. Though the Mets dropped the game, 11-10, it was the start of a magical season.
