Duda and d’Arnaud Do Damage
Date: October 21, 2015
The Mets set the tone early as Lucas Duda (3-run HR) and Travis d’Arnaud (solo HR) went back-to-back in the 1st inning to send New York to an 8-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on the road to clinch the fifth National League pennant in club history. NLCS MVP Daniel Murphy also homered for the Mets. Bartolo Colon came on in relief to diffuse a two-on, two-out jam in the 5th inning then tossed a scoreless 6th frame to earned him his first playoff win in 14 years. “It’s like living a dream. It means so much to me and the other players who have never played in a World Series before,’’ said Colon.
