1969 OLD-TIMERS DAY ROCKING CHAIR
On June 28, 1969, the Mets held an Old-Timers Day to celebrate retired players and front office personnel before a match-up with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Among those recognized were famed Brooklyn Dodger Roy Campanella, Mets executive and minority owner M. Donald Grant and Mets PR man Harold Weismann (the recipient of this particular chair). Though the honorees were retired from professional ball, their continued devotion to the game was beyond question — notice anything unusual about this chair’s back spindles?
