Walk Them All Off!
Brandon Nimmo’s pinch hit three-run home run in the 10th inning lifted the Mets to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. “You’re just floating, it’s hard to describe,” said Nimmo. “I mean, all the hairs on the back of your neck are standing up and I was extremely elated.” This was the lineup card from that game and Nimmo happened to be on the cover of “Mets Magazine” at the time. The win earned the Mets a series split with the Phillies – a series that started with Wilmer Flores hitting a pinch hit walk-off homer. The base pictured is from Flores’s game. Flores was the 18th pinch hitter to have a walk-off home run in club history and Nimmo the 19th. On July 6, Jose Bautista became the eighth Met to have a walk-off grand slam in a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
