VINTAGE “MEET THE METS” RECORD
The Mets began selling copies of their official song on 45 RPM records in 1963, only a year after the team was formed. Fans could purchase records for a dollar at the Polo Grounds, the Mets’ temporary home field in upper Manhattan, or order them by mail. Six decades later, the song is available in new versions and playable on new devices, but the love affair between fans and “Meet the Mets” continues.
