Retiring Seaver’s No. 41 at Shea Stadium
Date: July 24, 1988
The Mets retired Tom Seaver’s no. 41 on Tom Seaver Day, adding his number to the outfield wall at Shea Stadium. He became the third Met with the honor, along with no. 14 of player and manager Gil Hodges and no. 37 of manager Casey Stengel.
