Plan From Day 1

Opening Day of the 2019 season was a great one for Mets fans. Ace Jacob deGrom struck out 10 over six innings to earn the win over Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals on the road, 2-0. Robinson Cano homered and drove in both run in his Mets debut. Edwin Diaz, who came with Cano in a trade from Seattle, earned his first save with the Mets with this ball that he used to induce Juan Soto to line out. It was also Pete Alonso’s first MLB game. The base was used at third base in this game.
