Cincinnati Reds skipper Sparky Anderson held a mid-game meeting with his players during the 1973 NLCS. He led the Reds during a dynastic 1970s decade when the team won two World Series and four NL pennants. The Mets interrupted the Big Red Machine’s momentum in the 1973 NLCS, taking the series in five games.
