Jacob deGrom Shows Gratitude for Fans

Jacob deGrom tipped his hat to the Citi Field faithful in a gesture of gratitude. The fans had supported the longtime Met through his successful 2018 Cy Young campaign. It was in this game the deGrom was all business. He allowed only two hits in eight innings to lower his ERA to 1.70 for the season. He retired the last 20 batters with the final strikeout his 1,000th career punchout. deGrom became the first pitcher in AL/NL history to allow three runs or fewer in 29 straight starts and the first to have 23 Quality Starts in a season.
