Ron Darling Pitches in 1986 World Series
Date: October 1986
Before becoming a beloved Mets broadcaster, Ron Darling was just as beloved on the mound. Perhaps most famously, Darling was crucial to making the championship run in 1986. The righty finished the regular season with a 15-6 record and 2.81 ERA before starting three World Series games against the Boston Red Sox. He posted a 1.53 ERA and tallied two wins in those three starts, which included the series-clinching Game 7 at home at Shea.
