Davey Johnson Mets Hall of Fame Plaque
Date: 2010
After a 13-year career as a player (including with the Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series), Davey Johnson became manager of the Mets in 1984. He skippered winning clubs each year until his midseason departure in 1990, and led the Mets to their second World Series title in franchise history in 1986. Johnson’s easygoing style endeared him to players and fans and he remains the winningest manager in Mets history.
