Dwight Gooden Mets Hall of Fame Plaque

Nineteen-year-old Dwight “Doc” Gooden debuted with the Mets in 1984 and promptly set the baseball world on fire. He led the league in strikeouts and was named NL Rookie of the Year. In his sophomore Triple Crown season, Gooden earned the Cy Young Award. By his third season, Doc helped the Mets win the 1986 World Series. Over 11 years in New York, Gooden won 157 games and was a 4-time All-Star.
