Ed Kranepool Mets Hall of Fame Plaque
Date: 1990
Ed Kranepool grew up with the franchise, arriving in the majors in 1962 at the age of 17. A native New Yorker, Kranepool stayed with the Mets for his entire 18-year career, which included World Series appearances in 1969 and 1973. His RBI single in Game 5 of the 1973 NLCS proved decisive. When Kranepool retired in 1979, he had played in 1,853 games for the franchise, which remains a franchise record.
