Bobby’s Heart is in New York

Traded to the Mets in a rebuilding year, Bobby Valentine spent parts of two seasons with the team in 1977 and 1978 as a utility man. He returned as a coach for three seasons in the 1980s and finally as New York’s manager from 1996 to 2002. Bobby V also led the Mets to the NL pennant in 2000, the fourth pennant in franchise history.
