Back To The Salt City

Signed right out of his New York City high school at age 17, Ed Kranepool made his MLB debut with the Mets in 1962 but also played in the minor leagues that season. It was the only season the Salt City served as the Mets top affiliate until 2019. When the Mets affiliation returned to Syracuse, they honored Kranepool with a “Wall of Fame” commemoration.
