A TICKER TAPE DAY
Date: January 25, 2005
New Mets GM Omar Minaya made a splash in his first offseason running the team. Two of the most prominent pick ups eventually made the National Baseball Hall of Fame, pitcher Pedro Martinez and outfielder Carlos Beltrán. Minaya also hired New York Yankees coach Willie Randolph to manage. To celebrate their moves to New York, the new Mets were welcomed at the New York Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell.
