A 1986 Miracle for the Mets
Date: October 25, 1986
On-deck batter Howard Johnson couldn’t believe his eyes as he watched Ray Knight come down the line to score the winning run against the Boston Red Sox in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Facing elimination at Shea Stadium, the Mets were down two runs in the bottom of the 10th with two outs and no one on base before three straight hits and a wild pitch tied the game. Mookie Wilson’s grounder then eluded Boston first baseman Bill Buckner, which allowed Knight to score the winning run. Did you react like Johnson while watching this game?
