THREE FOR THE SHOW
Date: May 12, 2011
Mets slugger Carlos Beltran became the eighth player in Mets history, and the first in nearly five seasons, to hit three home runs in a game. Beltran hit three two-run home runs as the Mets beat the Colorado Rockies on the road, 9-5. “Every time you win you feel good about it,” Beltran said, “but being able to do something like this, I feel like a little kid, honestly. I was smiling. I never smile a lot. I was happy. It was great.” This image wasn’t from the game in Denver – it was from a game in April at Citi Field – but it shows the same black top and same Louisville Slugger style bat as the historic game in May.
