The Mets aptly chose “The Franchise” for their first bobblehead promotion in team history. In addition to the countless accolades and records achieved during his career as a Met, Tom Seaver was the first player to enter the Hall of Fame with a Mets cap on his plaque, and Seaver’s no. 41 was the first number retired by the Mets.
