The Dogpile
Date: June 1, 2012
When Johan Santana struck out St. Louis’s David Freese, Mets players rushed the mound to congratulate him on pitching the first no-hitter in franchise history. 3B David Wright jumped high into the pile and later embraced Santana. “Man, that was awesome,” said Wright. “Short of Tom Seaver, I can’t think of a better person to pitch the first one.”
