That’s the Ticket: Game 1 of 1969 NLCS
Date: October 4, 1969
The Mets and Atlanta Braves squared off in the 1969 NLCS, the first series of its kind in MLB history. Game 1 was held at Atlanta Stadium, and the Mets came out swinging with a five-run 8th inning against future National Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Phil Niekro. The Mets won over the Braves, 9-5.
