Rollie Fingers Deals in 1973 World Series
Date: October 13–21, 1973
Oakland Athletics reliever Rollie Fingers appeared in six games during the 1973 World Series. The future Hall of Famer picked up two saves in the Series, but the Mets had the upper hand in the extra-inning Game 2. Willie Mays hit an RBI single off of Fingers to break the tie in the 12th, and after a pitching change and a pair of A’s errors, New York took a four-run lead by the end of the frame. The Mets went on to win in 12 innings on the road, 10-7.
