Out of a Jam

In the 8th inning, Johan Santana exceeded the pitch limit manager Terry Collins had set for him. Following a two-out walk to Rafael Furcal, Collins met with Santana on the mound. After regrouping, Santana got former Met Carlos Beltran to hit a soft line drive to 2B Daniel Murphy to end the inning. Santana roared off the mound and into the dugout where tradition (and superstition) dictated that no one talk to the pitcher as he was preparing to close out a no-hitter.
