Orange Seats From Shea Stadium
Date: 1980s
These plastic seats were a revelation for fans at Shea Stadium — who were used to the 1964-vintage wooden seats — when these orange wonders were installed before Opening Day 1980. These were field level seats that offered amazing views behind home plate and along the baselines for baseball but moved to become sideline seats when the New York Jets played football at Shea.
