Frank Cashen began his career with the Baltimore Orioles and came to the Mets in 1980 as GM. His eye for talent led to a quick turnaround for the franchise, which had struggled in the late 1970s. Through trades and the draft, Cashen assembled the team that would go on to win the 1986 World Series. He remained GM until 1991 and was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 2010.
