Date: 1993–1994
In perhaps the most dominating start of his Mets career, on September 7, 1984, against the division-leading Chicago Cubs, 19-year-old Dwight Gooden tossed a complete game one-hit shutout, striking out 11 as the Mets beat the Cubs at home, 10-0. As of the end of the 2023 season, Gooden remains the youngest pitcher in Mets history to toss a one-hitter and the most recent teenager to do so in MLB history.
