Lining Up to Salute NYC and USA

Just prior to the start of the pre-game ceremonies on September 21, 2001, the Mets and the Atlanta Braves took their linear positions along the first and third base foul lines, respectively. The Mets watched performances that included a stirring rendition of “God Bless America” from Diana Ross and an emotional performance of the national anthem from Marc Anthony.
