Jimmy Plummer Business Card Holder
Date: Undated
Jimmy Plummer spent 31 years as a Mets employee, leaving a lasting impact on players and the franchise. He started in the organization in 1965 as a batboy for his hometown minor-league Mets of Marion, Virginia. He later became the minor-league club’s general manager at age 18. “Plum” joined the major-league Mets front office in 1977, working in accounting, promotions and corporate services. This golf-themed holder displayed his business cards over the years. Plummer passed away in 2008 from a heart attack shortly after transplant surgery. “Jimmy was a guy everyone felt close to, especially the players,” said longtime Mets 3B David Wright.
