Date: 1990s
By the early 1990s, Howard Johnson had established himself as one of the premier sluggers in the game. A two-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger winner at third base, Johnson led the NL in home runs and RBIs in 1991 and became the first Mets player to have 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in the same season.
