This figurine depicts perennial Gold Glover Keith Hernandez making one of several defensive plays during the 1986 World Series. In addition to his dependable defense, Hernandez also showed up in the batter’s box. In the decisive Game 7, Hernandez’s hitting helped kickstart a critical Mets rally. Down 3-0 in the 6th, Hernandez delivered a two-run single to get his team on the board. The Mets would continue scoring, including another RBI from Hernandez, to eventually defeat the Boston Red Sox at home, 8-5. The victory secured the second World Series championship in Mets history.
