Gooden Gives Back

Whether it was early in his playing days working with kids on the diamond or in retirement visiting with children with special needs, Dwight Gooden has made giving back a priority. “It’s very humbling to see the joy they have on their faces,” said Gooden, who has a special-needs nephew. “I saw the conditions they’re in, their disabilities, and the thing you try to enlighten them with is the positive things in life, not the negative.”
