Gary Carter’s Going-Away Glove

With 600 games as a Mets backstop, Gary Carter played his final one for New York on September 30, 1989. He used this glove in the 7-2 defeat of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 11 innings on the road. As a Met, Carter was a 4-time All-Star and starting catcher in the 1986 World Series. He would be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
