Ed Charles 1969 Topps Baseball Card
Third baseman Ed Charles served as the club’s elder statesman as the Mets made their run for the championship in 1969. The veteran scored the winning run during Game 2, as part of a 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on the road, and then hung up his cleats after the 1969 season. Talk about going out with a bang!
