Dwight Gooden and catcher Todd Hundley talked strategy during a game. Hundley and the rest of the Mets catchers caught a lot of Doc’s strikeouts — he had 46 double-digit strikeout games playing for New York. All-Star third baseman Tim Wallach of the Montreal Expos and Los Angels Dodgers was Gooden’s most frequent victim, striking out 27 times in 92 career plate appearances.
