Everyone knows that Dwight Gooden was an outstanding pitcher, but he was also a great hitter! In 1992, Gooden had 19 hits — including three doubles, a triple and a home run — on his way to earning the National League’s Silver Slugger Award for pitchers. Gooden joked, “Now that I’ve won it, they’re going to start pitching me tougher.”
