Clinchmas!
Jeurys Familia wore this jersey as he slammed the door on the Philadelphia Phillies for 5-3 win on the road as the Mets clinched a playoff spot in back-to-back seasons for the second time in club history. With the effort, Familia set a franchise record with his 51st save of the season, a number that also led MLB that season. Bartolo Colon earned the win and became the third pitcher in NL history to win 15 games in a season at age 43 or older. “This year was tougher,” said Colon of the upcoming Wild Card Game. “We had a lot of people injured and it was hard to get here to play just this one game we’re going to play.” James Loney homered as the Mets set a club record with 106 road home runs in a season. The ball was from the 8th inning during Curtis Granderson’s at bat.
