BE-WEAVER
Date: October 12, 2006
Game 1 of the 2006 NLCS at Shea Stadium was a tight pitching duel between Tom Glavine of the Mets and Jeff Weaver of the St. Louis Cardinals as each threw five shutout innings. Weaver was on his way to a sixth scoreless frame when Paul Lo Duca grounded a two-out single to left. Carlos Beltran then followed with two-run blast to give the Mets all the runs they’d need in a 2-0 win. Glavine shined with seven shutout innings to earn the victory.
