MLB went south to Monterrey, Mexico, for the first time with the 1996 La Primera Serie. This ball was used in the three-game affair, which the Mets lost to the San Diego Padres, 2-1. In the first game, the Mets put up a seven-run rally in the 9th inning but ultimately fell, 15-10. New York picked up the second game, 7-3, on a Mark Clark win. The Mets were shut out in the final game, 8-0.
