Back at Home for Spring Training

Jay Horwitz, head of Mets public relations, talked with Darryl Strawberry and John Franco at Port St. Lucie in 2009. Strawberry was helping run the team’s annual media seminar while Franco had just started as a team advisor. At a 2018 event honoring Horwitz, Franco became emotional in his tribute saying, “He would fight for the players. No matter how bad things were, he was there. I love you, man. Thank you.”
