An All-Starling

Starling Marte came to the Mets to help stabilize the outfield and deliver big hits. In this game Marte delivered three of them as the Mets beat the Miami Marlins at home, 10-0. This ball was Marte’s 1st inning single. It was a resurgent year for Marte who hit .292 with 16 home runs and 24 doubles as he was named an All-Star for the second time in his career. “Once I was able to share the news, it was just one of those … like you see all the hard work pay off,” Marte said of his All-Star selection, though he wasn’t able to participate due to injury.
