New Nimmo
Brandon Nimmo, a top-five prospect for the Mets, made his debut against the Atlanta Braves on the road. Though he didn’t get a hit, he had fun and was able to bring his parents, his sister and his fiancée to the game. “To be able to get out there and look around, being in a triple-deck stadium and playing against the Braves and for the Mets, it was a very surreal feeling,” said Nimmo. “I had fun, but wish it would have ended up different. I could have come through a couple of time for us. [I got] the first game out the way and hopefully can help a little bit better down the road.” Nimmo did start to help when he collected a hit the next day on his way to a career that placed him among club leaders in runs scored, home runs, double and triples.
