1969 Cleon Jones MVP Plaque
Chrysler-Plymouth was an early Mets sponsor and the company’s tri-state advertising association named Cleon Jones as MVP in 1969. The award was dated on July 9, when Tom Seaver had a near no-hitter against the Chicago Cubs. A Jones home run that game added to Seaver’s effort, and the Mets won at home, 4-0.
