Game 4 of the 1969 World Series featured dramatic defensive work by the Mets, and their top ace built on that momentum to earn the win. Tom Seaver remained on the mound for all 10 innings, notching 6 punchouts and allowing a single run. The Mets pulled out the 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in 10 innings at home. “This was the real Tom Seaver. This was the Tom Seaver who won 25 games during the regular season,” the New York Daily Newswrote of his outing.
