The Face of America
Date: September 21, 2001
The stars and stripes were out in full force at Shea Stadium when the Mets and Atlanta Braves played the first baseball game in New York City since September 11. For fans in attendance and spectators watching from home, this was more than just a baseball game. It became a platform to show support for the people and the ideals that represent the United States. Many fans at the game showed their support by displaying American flags on shirts, pants and faces.
