Straw’s Hot Start to 1986

Darryl Strawberry got off to a hot start in 1986 and helped the Mets win 59 games before the All-Star break. In his 73 games before the All-Star Game, Strawberry posted a .954 OPS, slugged 13 home runs and 22 doubles while driving in 46 and stealing 20 bases. A lingering thumb injury limited Strawberry in the second half, but he found his form again in the playoffs.
