Shea to the Rescue

In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Mets organization transformed Shea Stadium into a staging ground for 9/11 relief efforts. Ownership, management, players and staff all contributed to the procurement and distribution of supplies to support the relief efforts at Ground Zero.
