Rico’s Rookie Season
Date: 1994 to 1996
Rico Brogna started his Mets career in 1994 with a scorching rookie season, batting .351 with seven home runs in 39 games. During one stretch, Brogna got a hit in 15 straight outings. He spent the next two years at first base before a spinal condition made playing more difficult. Brogna was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies after the 1996 season, playing five more seasons at the major league level.
